Protecting Your Little Ones From The Sun

Protecting Your Little Ones From The Sun

This article is going to guide you towards the best ways of protecting your little ones from the sun; (Abroad and those odd hot days we have back home!) We know how important it is to relax on holiday, and understand it can be hard to do so when we have more than one person to look out for.

Lather up!

This may sound like the obvious thing to do, but you really can't put enough on. The higher the factor the better to, and lathering it in can be made fun. There are many sun protecting creams out there designed by your kids favourite makes.

Another little issues you may face is your children not liking the feel and the time spent putting on the cream, but by simply rewarding them by telling them they'll receive a treat, or extra swimming time then they'll soon jump to it. A place we all forget is the feet and lips. Before going away make the shopping fun by letting them pick out a quirky lip balm they'll want to use with an SPF to protect their lips.

Cover up!

It's not mean to put a T-shirt on! If you really want to make sure the sun stays away from your child, putting a light t-shirt on will not keep them from having fun. Even better why not try a a swimsuit with arms for the younger child, as these are comfortable to wear, look professional, come off easily and take minutes to dry in the sun! Hats are also just as important to protect the scalp from being burnt, and luckily there are now extremely protective caps available that cover all of the forehead and hold a flap around the back of the cap which protects both the neck and ears. These hats are a must buy and are available from many baby clothes shops in the swimwear section. As the baby swim suit will leave legs and feet uncovered, why not try out some sun protector socks which are extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear...And don't forgot sunglasses too! Not only do they make a child look extremely cute but protects their eyes too.

After sun!

What you do after your child's being in the sun is just as important. After sun products can protect your child from feeling agitated and burnt and are other remedies to use other than just the products on the shelf. Any creams containing Aloe Vera or gels work like magic as they form a protective layer on the skin and locks in all the skins moisture which prevents dehydration. This will help with the next day in the sun as your skin will be prepared for the sun and is more likely to stay hydrated as well as being soothing when used over sun burn.

Remember, all children need sun protection, and you can't protect them from it too much. Although this may sound like a little bit of time taken up, it's well worth it! And note that not only those blistering days are dangerous as the breeze can be very deceiving.
