Ideas For Celebrating The New Year In Style

Ideas For Celebrating The New Year In Style

After celebrating the start of 2011 with a beer or two in Bruge, me and my mates made a packed that we would always arrange to go somewhere every year to celebrate New Years Eve, wether it's a cottage in the Yorkshire Dales or stood in Time Square in New York for when the clock hits twelve. We never intend to spend New Years Eve at home again!

If you're in the same mind set as me about New Year celebrations and want to do something different to see in 2012, then take a look at these suggestions.

Morocco

Really fancy doing something different this New Year, then how about a taking a camel ride out into the desert and celebrate the start of 2012 with Berber drumming and a feast of cous cous and roasted lamb! Now that would be a cool way to welcome 2012!

New York

How about being part of one of the most famous New Year celebrations in the world, then head to Time Square in New York on the 31st December. Though make the most out of your evening and experience NYC New Years how it really should be? Get a Time Square All Access Pass, this will give you access to multiple venues around the Times Square area.

Bruge

After spending the day wandering around the Christmas Market in the square, and visiting the awesome Snow & Ice Sculpture Festival, where there are sculptures of Big Ben, Elvis to a an actually slide made of ice! Head to a bar and sit around the fire, enjoy a local beer or two, and enjoy the atmosphere whilst you wait for midnight to approach. Then at twelve o'clock head out into the square and watch the fireworks, whilst music plays.

Prague

New Year's Eve in Prague is party night. The river boats, restaurants, bars and clubs are full of people, and the atmosphere continues to build, as the evening progresses.

Just before midnight everyone gathers at the Old Town Square and by the river to watch the fireworks over the city.

Nice

Head to the chic French city of Nice if you enjoy music and fine food, as every year the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice performs a celebratory concert on New Year’s Eve. Whilst many of the city’s renowned seafood restaurants and other culinary venues celebrate the occasion with special meals and a variety of events.

Moscow

Head to Red Square in Moscow with thousands of other party goers to see in the New Year, and watch a stunning firework display.

Basel

The Swiss city of Basel, offer a spectacular firework display as the clock hit twelve over the Rhine. Whilst a performance from the city’s brass band and a special service held on the Münsterplatz, also take centre stage.
