The Carat hotel is located in an just outside central Hamburg. It has excellent motorway connections and public transport within a short walk opposite the hotel. It is also very close to the river Elbe and the "Freihafen" the habour of Hamburg. Due to its location near the river there is a lack of light during late nights.

The restaurant, which is located just off the lobby is decorated in modern style with a brown and blue colour scheme. The small, but cosy bar is decorated in the same wood as the reception desk.

The small lobby is decorated and furnished mainly in pale browns. The floor is tiled and the reception desk has wooden panelling. There is a small seating area with dark brown leather seats.
