The hotel is located just over an hour's drive from Nairobi. The fresh water lake, some 13 kilometres across, is a haven for bird watchers, nature lovers and artists, or those seeking a peaceful retreat.

There is a choice of rooms, cottages or suites, all of which are furnished with their own individual theme. Rooms have private bathroom facilities and mosquito nets. The lake cottage has 2 bedrooms and sitting room and a lake view.

Restaurant

The public rooms are elegant and cool. The residents' lounge has a massive fire place and a large bay window. The bar is cosy and adjoins the snooker room. Lunch can be taken al fresco beneath the shade of the magnificent acacia trees and guests can look forward to a home-grown dinner prepared from only the freshest of lakeside ingredients.

Exterior

The hotel is located in 55 acres of lakeside gardens, green lawns shaded by mature acacia and spreading fever trees. The hotel began life in the 1930s as papyrus thatched chalets. Although the current accommodation is a far cry from the original structure, it has not lost any of its charm.
