The lodge is located in grounds that extend 1 kilometre along the banks of the River Talek in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The landscaped gardens are home to indigenous plants and trees, attracting colourful birds and butterflies.

Rooms

The lodge was concieved not just as an overnight stop, but as a safari lodge and the emphasis is on exclusivity and comfort. The decor incorporates ethnic design elements from the Maasai tribe, in whose realm the lodge is set. 84 guest rooms, twin ,double and triple are arranged in clusters of 6, each in natural wood and stone banda. There are 2 interconnecting rooms and the rooms are spacious enough for an extra bed. They each have ensuite showers, tiled bathrooms and private verandah with uninterrupted views across the river.

The restaurant and bar offer first class cuisine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The chefs at the lodge produce succulent dishes in a colourful and spectacular celebration of culinary artistry.

Exterior

The lodge has been landscaped to blend in harmoniously with the surrounding Mara-Serengeti eco system. It is the only lodge in Kenya which has a waste water treatment plan, treating sewage to produce crystal clean water which is then used for irrigation.
