Location

Gauteng, the principal business area is 187 kilometres away. Johannesburg International Airport is located there, which serves all international and domestic flights. Pilanesberg Airport is only ten minutes away from Sun City.

Accommodation

The Palace has 338 superbly decorated spacious rooms and suites. All suites have hand-carved, king-sized beds. The King Suite,epitome of regal opulence is furnished with 800 individual handcrafted items. The King Suite and the three further luxury suites have two bedrooms en-suite, jacuzzi and sauna, while six Junior Suites and six Superior Junior Suites have convertible couches, a lounge and an extra guest lavatory. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available upon request and are subject to availability and all the suites include a butler service.

Of the guestrooms, 155 have twin beds, and the 55 Family rooms have a king size bed and convertible couch. There are 3 rooms catering for the disabled that are all furnished to accommodate a family. There are also 109 Luxury rooms with sofas.

Each room is equipped with an armoire containing a remote-controlled, multi-channel colour TV, an honour bar and safe. An Interactive TV has been installed in all the rooms at the Palace, allowing guests to access the limited Internet sites, receive information and review their accounts via their TV. They are also able to watch one of the many blockbuster movies at a nominal fee. In room facilities include air-conditioning, ceiling fan and heating, hairdryer, electric razor plug, honour bar and Voltage of 220V.

SWIMMING POOLS
The Palace Grand Pool (for Palace residents only) is adjacent to a kiddies pool and the Royal Bath is located within the Lost City at the base of the Royal Staircase
JOGGING TRAILS
Maps are available from the concierge desk for the 3km and 5km jogging trails around both the Lost City and the Gary Player Golf Course. The trails are all very scenic and well marked according to distance and direction.
LOST CITY GOLF COURSE
There is a Pro Shop, driving range and a restaurant, The Crocodile Lounge, overlooking the course serving light meals and drinks to quench post-game thirsts. The golf course is closed on Tuesdays

Dining & Bar Facilities

The Crystal Court at the Palace of the Lost City accommodates 120 guests and the terrace and tea lounge offers seating for a further 160 diners. The restaurant serves delicious international cuisine, with a strong African influence. It is open daily from 06h30 until
11h00 for breakfast and dinner from 18h30 until 22h30.

A lavish afternoon high tea is also served at the Crystal Court from 15h00 until 17h30 daily. The dress code is smart casual.

The Villa Del Palazzo is a fine dining Italian restaurant with a superb wine list and an emphasis on Northern Italian cuisine. A maximum of 180 diners can be seated on hand-carved chairs in a five-domed pavilion. The Villa Del Palazzo is open daily for dinner from 18h30 until 22h30 and reservations are essential.The dress code is smart elegant.

The Palace Pool Deck restaurant seats up to 120 diners and serves a South African barbecue from 12h30 until 15h00 on weekends,weather permitting. A snack bar on the terrace serves light meals, daily from 11h30 till 15h00.

The dcor of the Tusk Lounge and bar has a colonial feel and is dominated by three 5.6 metre arches, each made in the form of two huge elephant tusks. The bar is open from 11h00 until 00h00 and serves an extensive list of cocktails which guests can enjoy while the in-house pianist serenades them.

Gazebo Experience, a fine dining outdoor under the Romantic Gazebo with light music on request and set menu from one of the finest restaurant at the Palace.

The Crocodile Lounge, situated in the Lost City Clubhouse, has a panoramic view of the Lost City Golf Course and is open daily during summer from 06h00 until 19h00 and during winter from 07h00 until 19h00. A light lunch or snack can be enjoyed at the Lounge from 11h00 until 16h00. A light breakfast menu is available.

Area Information

RECREATION
Kwena Gardens crocodile sanctuary is open daily from 10h00 to 18h00. The crocodiles are fed daily at 16h30. Kwena Gardens has a fully licensed coffee shop, curio shop and a unique African art gallery.

The 55.000 Hectare, malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, which has a wide variety of African wildlife including the Big Five lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard, surrounds Sun City. Day and night game drives can be booked at the Gametrackers
Desk situated in the Welcome Centre.
Hot-air balloon flights over the park are also available.
The Bruno Oppe Horse-riding Centre, situated below the Sun City Lake, provide well-groomed horses for all levels of riders.
There are two 18-hole championship golf courses at Sun City. The luxurious Gary Player Country Club overlooks the Gary Player Golf Course, home of the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge, a golf tournament with a first prize of US $2 million and Womens World Cup. This is an 18 hole, par 72 walking course with a 5km running trail along the course. The Gary Player Country Club includes a Pro Shop, as well as a Health spa, two squash courts and a spinning studio. At the Health Spa you can indulge in hair and beauty treatments, hydro bath, Vichy Shower, spa-pool and steam room. The fully equipped gym offers personal trainers.

The Lost City Golf Course was also designed by famed South African golfing figure, Gary Player. This spectacular par-72 course is a cart course, complete with a state-of-the-art clubhouse, is a short stroll from The Palace. It features a water hazard of 20 live Nile crocodiles on the 13th hole and offers facilities such as a driving range, Golf Academy and a Golf Pro Shop.

Kamp Kwena Fort situated near the Cabanas, is a supervised programme for children aged 4 12 years.
There is a mini-golf facility, close to the fully equipped childrens playground on the lakeshore near the Cabanas.
A bird aviary housing exotic species allows visitors to see the birds in closed quarters. Animal World lets children pet farm animals. They are fed daily from 11h00 onwards. Finders Keepers, next to Kamp Kwena offers guests an opportunity to dig for prizes in a big sandpit.
Relax and enjoy all that Sun City has to offer knowing your children are in safe hands at the Kamp Kwena crche. Age 0 to 12.

There are 11 tennis courts, of which 5 are floodlit. A resident professional provides coaching.
Water-sport on the Sun City Lake, Waterworld, includes para sailing, water-skiing, jet skis, paddleboats, wake snake and boat rides. There are swimming pools including a childrens pool at each hotel. You can find a heated pool at the Cascades, Palace (for Palace residents only) and the Vacation Club for your convenience.
You can enjoy a 30-minute cruise around the Waterworld lake onboard daily at 12h00 and 16h00. This is free of charge.
Located at the Cabanas next to Animal World is the South Africa National Bird of Prey Centre. Flying displays, which are both educational and entertaining. Display times vary per season.
Explore the Resort with renting Mountain Bike, situated at the Finders Keepers at the Cabanas.
Outdoor Adventure Centre offers activities from clay pigeon shooting and quad bikes to the ancient sport of archery.
Sun City now offers a superb African experience at the Cultural Village, situated between the Horse riding Centre and the Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary. The Village People @ Sun City highlights the history of 8 different Southern African tribes and daily tours are conducted, incorporating song, dance and food. Also available at the Cultural Village is the Shebeen, treat your palate to home-cooked food, shoot some pool and relax in the sounds of jazz and township kwaito while enjoying a local beer. You can also see a spectacular variety of tropical butterflies housed at the Cultural Villages Butterfly World.
Enjoy scenic flights in a helicopter. Combine an exhilarating helicopter flight with a meal on a secluded mountaintop and enjoy the indescribable natural beauty of the Pilanesberg. The helicopter can take 4 people on a flip at a time.
Glide around the resort with Segway Safari wheels, a new and easy way to see Sun City.
Join in for a ride on our very own steam train, Stimela. This facility is fun for the whole family. Situated next to the Waterworld Lake, Cabanas.

The worlds longest Zipslide is now available at Sun City. It is 2km long cable and you can reach a speed of 120km p/h.
