The city's legendary seven hills will have you admiring characteristic mosaic pavements and dazzling tiled façades. They also offer you breathtaking panoramas viewpoints of the city.

No trip to Lisbon would be complete without a ride on one of the city's charming old trams. Or a trip up into the hilltop district of Bairro Alto, where dozens of restaurants and bars line the narrow streets.

Lisbon manages to mix old with the new so well. Nightclubs are scattered all over town, and make fine use of old spaces, whether on riverside docks or tucked away in 18th-century mansions.

Just outside the city, there’s so much more to explore, including the beautiful setting of Sintra, the glorious beaches of Cascais and Estoril, and many traditional fishing villages.
