Overview
St Lawrence Gap offers a very unique holiday experience. It is known for being one of the best neighbourhoods in Barbados. Located on the coast, It is most famous for its 1.5 kilometre road, which is a stretch of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops all laying just on the beach front. 'The Gap' as most people like to call it, is just 5 Kilometres Southeast of Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados.
Places Of Interest
The Gap is a playground of nightclubs, karaoke bars, family friendly restaurants, rum bars and clothes as well gift shops, the majority of these being on the strip. Why not visit 'The Watering Hole'? A wooden hut in which lies the islands most famous rum shop. Try to visit St. Lawrence church, too; a beautiful made stone church open for visitors. The Reggae Lounge is also a famous bar, for those who want to start of partying subtly with live music along with getting your hands on some cheap drinks.
Eating Out
Food served in The Gap is influenced by a lot of countries. Mostly from England, China, America and Italy, making it easy or you to get hold of your favourite dish. Although it's easy to get your hands on what you're already used to, there are plenty of opportunities to be spontaneous with bars serving up salsas, jerk chicken, grilled specials, fresh seafood, sweet potatoes and Greek influenced vegetarian dishes.
Important Information
Camouflage materials are not allowed into the country and will be confiscated, 6 months validity on passport required from return date, departure tax payable. Maestro cards are not accepted in many shops and outlets.
