Other wise known as Zakynthos this Island really is a beach lovers paradise, great for families who can always find a quiet spot to escape to, or for the young party people who head for Laganas in high season. Something you must do while you are here is to visit the nesting site of the famous loggerhead turtles at Kalamaki where you can try to sport one of the tiny baby turtles making a dash for freedom, if this doesn’t interest you then you can always soak up the sun on the long sandy uncrowded beach, just one the of the many to choose from on this Island. From Venetian fortresses to shipwrecks every resort has it’s own unique blend of character so it doesn’t matter what age you are there will definitely be one which suites you.
Eating Out
The local tavernas are the best place to eat and the most economical. Local fayre is usually rabbit stew, greek salads, strong cheese with fresh crusty bread finished off with sweet sticky nugget.
Places To Visit
Jump on a ferry and sail to stunning Kefelonia, the island made famous by Captain Corellis Mandolin. Visit smugglers Cove, you're sure to have seen this on a postcard or in a holiday brochure, a stunning sandy beach set in a cliff surrounded cove which is home to a ship wreck, truly a dramatic picture.
Important Information
Because some resorts are close to the airport they may be subject to airport noise. You require 3 months validity on your passport from the date of return on a 10 year British passport.
