COVID-19: Summer 2020 Is Still Open For Business!

The easing of lockdown measures both on these shores and abroad reignited the travel plans of many for summer 2020, much to the delight of holidaymakers across the globe. This was followed by the UK government’s official list of quarantine-free countries, which included the names of places that travellers would be able to enter our borders via, without needing to self-isolate upon arrival.

That was seen as a huge positive for the travel industry and resulted in a flurry of summer 2020 getaways being booked up, as tourists looked to get the holiday fix they once feared they would be starved of. In fact, the demand has been huge amongst icelolly.com users, with searches for this summer making up 70% of all site searches, and bookings at 63%.

More recently, searches for August 2020 holidays saw the biggest rise in volume and accounted for the most searches by calendar month, with a total of seven out of 10 searches being made for travel up to October 2020.

So, what’s the main point we’re getting at here? Well, of course we’re aware of the recent government announcement which explained that as from Sunday 26th July, Spain would be removed from the UK’s list of quarantine-free destinations, meaning that arrivals from the country would need to self-isolate for a period of 14 days, and as of right at this moment, we’re not quite sure when this will be relaxed. This is however being kept under constant review and could change at any moment.

But contrary to some of the feedback our Customer Experience Team have gathered from would-be travellers on social media and the like, summer 2020 is still open for business!

There are many other countries hugely popular with UK holiday goers that are in fact excluded from the government’s 14 day self-isolation rule, which includes Greece, Turkey, France, Italy, Malta, Cyprus and more. Whilst it’s disappointing that our old favourite Spain is, for now, not on our travel radar, this absolutely doesn’t mean that we can’t still jet away on a summer 2020 holiday.

Here at icelolly.com, we want to make the holiday booking process as easy as possible for you, which is why we’ve collated all of our best deals into one place, meaning all you have to do is compare the latest offers and pick out your next bargain break:

Or if a staycation is what you’ve got your eye on for summer 2020, our team have been busy in recent weeks getting together and launching our brand new UK search, which makes it super-simple for you to browse the very best UK holiday offers right now. Just select your destination, enter your desired dates, duration and number of guests and we’ll do the rest – it’s as easy as that!

As mentioned, there are still a whole host of countries included on the UK government’s quarantine-free list, meaning travellers arriving from those destinations will not have to self-isolate for 14 day upon their return. Here is that full list:
