In the midst of the disruption caused by COVID-19 over the last few months, we’ve all been going out less, though more recently the reopening of pubs, gyms, shops and restaurants has encouraged Brits to venture away from their homes for some daily entertainment and interaction.
You’re sure to have missed sipping a nice cold pint with your mates, pumping some iron at the gym, shopping ‘til you drop on the high street and tucking into a tasty feed in a local establishment with perhaps your family, friends or little ones.
If the latter sounds exactly like you, you’ll love the new government-backed initiative which is all set to come into force from Monday 3rd August, and will allow you to enjoy a whopping 50% discount when you eat in at a restaurant registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme. That will coincide nicely with a break on these shores if you’re one of the many to have booked a UK holiday for your summer 2020 getaway.
Simply visit one of the participating restaurants, bars, cafes or food halls any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 3rd to 31st August to get a 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat or drink in, up to a maximum of £10 discount per diner – it’s as easy as that!
And the best thing about it? There’s no limit regarding the amount of times you can use this offer, so take advantage on as many occasions as you like by the end of August.
Are you heading away on a camping trip sometime soon? Perhaps a cottage break in a peaceful rural setting? Or maybe you’ll be visiting a big UK city such as London or Edinburgh? Well, with this scheme you can treat yourself to a delicious meal out when doing so, with the added incentive of a handy discount to help drive down the overall cost.
There’s no voucher system involved, the discount will automatically be available to you at participating establishments, and you can also use it at the same time as other offers or discounts as well as not having to commit to a minimum spend.
It is important to note however that you cannot claim the discount on alcoholic drinks or service charges.
Visit the GOV.UK website now, add in your post code and a list of all the participating establishments within a 5 mile radius will appear. Find out where you can get a discount on your next meal out here.
