New To Disney In 2019: The Complete Guide

It’s known as ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’ and Walt Disney World Resort continues to draw holidaymakers from all corners of the world to its various parks year upon year. But such is the demand for Florida holidayswith an ever more magical experience, Disney are always making improvements in order to keep tourists flocking back in their droves.

But what’s lined up for 2019? Read on to find out…

Exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Fans of this hugely popular film franchise have been eagerly anticipating this all-new battle-themed ride between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests also take control in one of three roles on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run all whilst hearing an original theme song written exclusively for these experiences.

It’s also set to be the largest land at Disney World, covering 14 acres.

Immersive Star Wars-Themed Resort

As well as the new rides listed above, a multi-day, fully immersive Star Wars-themed resort will also take guests aboard a starship and encompass everything from a luxury hotel, restaurants, accommodation and recreation authentic to the George Lucas phenomenon.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

This amazing new feature utilises groundbreaking technology to transform Micky & Minnie into an incredible real-world experience, which incidentally is also the first Mickey-themed ride-through attraction.

Based upon an original story and accompanied by an endearing theme song, guests will take a journey inside the world of the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts and is scheduled to open in Autumn 2019.

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Situated close to Epcot and inspired by Walt Disney’s European grandeur along the Mediterranean coastline, the Riviera Resort is luxury personified and will be the 15th Disney Vacation Club property, expected to open later this year.

Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration

From 18th January to 30th September, Magic Kingdom will host Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration, featuring food, merchandise, entertainment, a new dance party and a chance to meet some of the park’s most popular characters.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Blasts In

Inspired by the hugely liked movies, this family-friendly attraction is an innovative ride system and one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters!

Important note: Plans are in place to get things rolling this year but unfortunately full completion isn’t due until 2021.

Disney Skyliner

A new transportation system that will take guests from one area to another, the Disney Skyliner has much the look of gondolas, providing riders with a birds-eye view of the Resort.

Nighttime Spectacular At Epcot

This illumination-based feature involves huge floating set pieces, LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lasers and pyrotechnics which aims to ‘shed light’ on how Disney music can inspire people all around the globe.

Before then, Epcot Forever, a celebration of this incredible park, will debut in late 2019 set to classic Epcot songs inclusive of an epic spectacle with fireworks and special effects really making for a special night-time experience.

Disney Lakeside Lodge

A nature-inspired resort with a deluxe look and feel known as ‘Reflections’, the resort will be home to 900 hotel rooms and is also expected to house the proposed Disney Vacation Club villas.
