Pubs not Super Clubs!

When in Ibiza, you don’t have to spend every night in a super club in order to have a good time. Each resort has its own little hub of night life revolving around smaller scale bars, and disco pubs where you can still dance the night away, but on a more bank balance-friendly budget.

In San Antonio alone you are spoilt for choice, with not only the majority of the islands’ super clubs, but also 3 alternative drinking areas where you can go for a change of scenery or to kick off your night in style. The rest of the island is no different, with even the quieter resorts having some hidden party gem to get excited about.

With so much choice, it is often difficult to know where to start, so here at icelolly, we thought we would give you a little helping hand! We’ve put together this rough guide of some of Ibiza’s best loved bars, to help ease some of the stress of your holiday!

‘Chic and Cheerful’

Café Mambo – Sunset Strip – San Antonio Town

The visionary Café Mambo on San Antonio’s Sunset Strip has become an integral part of Ibiza night life since opening in 1994. Each night, Ibiza’s gorgeous and glamorous gather together on the terrace to watch the stunning Ibiza sunset over the sea.

Twice winner of Ibiza’s best bar award, the venue is a favourite haunt of Ibiza’s A-listers. With world-renowned DJs known to simply wander in and take over the decks, Café Mambo is the ultimate pre-party destination.

‘Best of British’

The Ship Inn – West End – San Antonio Town

The Ship Inn is without a doubt the quintessential British pub in San Antonio. Located at the top of the West End strip, The Ship’s warm hospitality, good honest food and party atmosphere has made it a firm favourite for holidaymakers and Ibiza workers alike.

Doubling by day as an information and job centre, if you “accidentally” forget to board your flight home and decide to stay on the White Isle a little longer, The Ship Inn should be your first port of call!

‘Cocktails and Screens’

Linekers – Promenade/Beach – San Antonio Town

Introduced as a brand new concept bar for Tenerife back in 1988, combining the iconic sports bar format with a night club atmosphere, Linekers very quickly became a household name in entertainment and opened bars all over Europe.

The beachside bar in San Antonio is the jewel in the Linekers empire crown, well established as one of the busiest bars in the resort. Enjoy great food, value for money cocktails, top class DJs and of course, sports coverage galore!

‘Beachy Keen’

Bora Bora Beach Club – Beachfront – Playa D’en Bossa

One of the only places you will find in Ibiza where dancing on tables is compulsory behaviour. Hundreds of party revellers gather daily at Bora Bora to party on the sands of Playa D’en Bossa. Although it has hot competition from Ushuaia down the road, Bora Bora is the definitive beach party experience in Ibiza.

Upping its game year after year to bring some of the biggest names to the DJ booth, Bora Bora keeps the party jumping from the afternoon through ‘til the early hours. Free entry all day, the atmosphere here is electric! Definitely not one to miss.

‘Absolutely Fabulous’

Bar Monalisa Ibiza – Dalt Vila - Ibiza Town

Situated right at the heart of Ibiza Town’s notorious Calle de la Virgen gay scene, nestled in the back streets of Dalt Vila, Bar Monalisa is a small club, with a big attitude! Expect drag queens, masquerade, glitter balls, dancing cages and more sequins than you can shake a mojito at!

With a stunning outdoor terrace offering spectacular views over the historic old town, you can sip cocktails in style before sashaying into the night across the gigantic dance floor. If you prefer understated chic… Bar Monalisa is probably not the venue for you, but if you’re ready to embrace the extraordinary and flirt with the flamboyant, you’re guaranteed to have a great night here!

‘Hippy Hideaway’

Las Dalias – Sant Carles de Peralta – Near Es Cana

If you’re willing to venture off the beaten track in search of a party, then look no further than Las Dalias. A converted roadhouse, shrouded in mystique, Las Dalias has become an unconventional party hotspot. What began in the seventies as a meeting place for local farmers to get together, sell their wares, and celebrate the end of season, has become a Hindu-inspired club revelation with over 1000 clubbers turning out each week to the legendary ‘Namaste’ party.

Feast upon a banquet of the finest organic vegetarian cuisine, enjoy world class performances from dancers and musicians before dancing the night away under the stars to the sound of international electronic music at Ibiza’s biggest garden party. A lasting relic of Ibiza-gone-by, when the White Isle was a paradise for hippies, Las Dalias takes things back to the old school.
