The Best Family Rides At Walt Disney World

So, you’re heading off on the family holiday of a lifetime to Walt Disney World in Orlando. You want to experience all the parks and as many rides as possible because let’s be honest, it is one of the best places on earth. To make sure all the family have fun, here are some of the best family rides at Walt Disney world, ranging from the calm classics to the rides for the brave.

Mad Tea Party

The Mad Tea Party is a classic loved by all ages and is not to be missed if you’re at Magic Kingdom with little ones. It’s up to you if you want to spin slowly or go round and round really quickly as you twirl through Wonderland on a magical adventure. Music fills the air during this magical experience and you’ll soon see why it’s a firm favourite with kids and adults alike!

The Test Track

This one is for the family that love to innovate. The Test Track at Epcot lets you “design” your own car and then go for a thrilling, high-speed test drive after. You pick how you want the car to handle, whether you want it to be environmentally friendly and even the speed it travels at. The car then gets taken through various terrain, weather conditions and banked roads which test the car you’ve created to its limits.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is an absolute classic the family can’t miss out on. Race through the Western Wilderness and into a haunted gold-mining town on this runaway train. Speed through the tunnels and turn through the mountains on a rickety track that bumps and rocks it’s way around Big Thunder Mountain, under waterfalls and around big boulders. It’s a fast ride so hold on to your hats everyone!

Splash Mountain

Hands up, who’s got a little dare devil in their family? Well, if you have, then Splash Mountain, in the Frontierland part of Magic Kingdom, is the one for you. You’re going to get wet on this ride, so take a poncho if you want to try and stay dry! Set along to the Disney classic, Song Of The South, Splash Mountain starts off steadily with a few little dips along the way but get ready for the end of the ride where a breath-taking 5-storey drop will have you screaming in your seat. We bet you’ll want to go back and do it all over again though!

Kali River Rapids

The Kali River Rapids over at Animal Kingdom is a great ride for all the family. Pile into the twelve seater raft and get ready to take a journey through the jungle, down a 30 foot waterfall and through geysers that may or may not leave you soaked through to the bone. This ride isn’t only fun, it’s pretty educational as it tells the story of the devastation that’s caused by illegal forestry. Just make sure you go in the afternoon sun so that you dry out pretty quick after the ride.

Peter Pan’s Flight

If you’re a fan of the Disney favourite, Peter Pan, then you’ll love Peter Pan’s flight. Hop on board a magical pirate ship and sail into the moonlit sky as you’re flown through the night skies of London, over the Mermaid Lagoon and past Skull Rock before watching Peter Pan and the mean Captain Cook in a quick duel.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Now this ride is fun. Head over to Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdon, settle into your pod and get ready to defeat Zurg who is stealing batteries to create a new weapon. Throughout the ride, your pod will be turning in the arcade game style set and it’s up to you to rack up as many points with your laser guns as possible! You have control of how to move your pod – or Space Cruiser as Buzz calls it! – so you have the best possible opportunity to stop Zurg from taking over the world!
