Travel Bloggers' Favourite Cruises & Why They Love Them

Cruises are becoming increasingly popular when it comes to travel, and they’re no longer considered just for the rich or older generation. More and more millennials and young families are turning to cruise holidays as a way to pack more destinations and experiences into their holiday.

We decided to turn to our Influencer Hub for some cruise inspiration, asking which are their favourites and why they love this type of travel…

Viking's Bordeaux Rivers, Wine & Chateaux Cruise

Who? Jennifer, from Luxe Adventure Traveler

Why They Rate It: "The Viking's Bordeaux Rivers Wine & Chateaux cruise is my favourite cruise, in fact, I loved it so much that I actually moved to Bordeaux a little more than a year after that Viking cruise, and have now called the World Capital of Wine home for three years.

"What I love about river cruising is that it is a much smaller ship. You typically dock right in the heart of the places you're visiting, giving you much more time to explore on your own.

"My dream cruise is to Antarctica, and I'm specifically dreaming of going with Quark Expeditions. They're the leader in polar cruising and it's a once-in-a-lifetime trip I want to ensure I go with the best of the best on."

Costa Magica Cruise Around Scandinavia and Russia

Who? Amita, from Amerz With Love

Why They Rate It: "I’ve been on two cruises, but my favourite was the Costa Magica cruise around Scandinavia and Russia.

"I went with my parents when I was young, but I loved how there were so many amenities included, and there were activities for you to meet new people and socialise. And so much food around. It’s a good way for you to meet new friends and visit so many places in a week!

"My dream cruise would probably be to the Bahamas with Royal Caribbean. I’ve heard so much about their cruises and how amazing they are. Plus I’ve always wanted to cruise around the Caribbean."

Royal Caribbean’s Independence Of The Seas

Who? Nikki, from Yorkshire Wonders

Why They Rate It: "If you are travelling with children, look for a ship with all the bells and whistles like Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas. We took the kids last year after a multi-million-pound refurbishment and they had a ball!

There’s a climbing wall, crazy golf, flo-rider, a trampoline park on the top deck, waterslides and a water park for the younger ones. They even have an escape room!We had a family room where the kids had their own bunk beds in a separate area, with views of the promenade. There are so many foods for them to try and they loved the kids clubs too!"

Royal Caribbean’s Independence Of The Seas

Who? Sammy, from Summers Holiyay

Why They Rate It: "I adore cruising! There’s something really incredible about waking up every morning and seeing a different stunning view. One day the whole of Cannes is in front of you, the next is the bustling Las Ramblas of Barcelona...a new adventure awaits you every day!

"I had the best time on the Royal Caribbean Mediterranean ship. My favourite memories were actually on-board, one day they made a gigantic paella by the pool side, another night we had an open air party on board - the atmosphere was amazing!"

"The next cruise I am desperate to do is a Caribbean one and get to explore all the stunning beaches and islands."

Princess Cruises, Crown Princess

Who? Sophie, from Sophie’s Suitcase

Why They Rate It: "Last year I went on a cruise around the Med with Princess Cruises, aboard Crown Princess, stopping off at the most wonderful places, including Gibraltar, Barcelona, Genoa, Pisa and Marseille. We spent a week on-board Crown Princess, sailing the seas, enjoying the views and indulging in the many different cuisines available both within the ship and in the destinations.

At first, I was worried I would feel trapped on-board, especially on sea days, but I was surprised by the variety of activities for all age-ranges across the ship! There was always something to do; from relaxing by the pool deck, to theatre performances in the Princess Theatre, and from yoga in the gym, to spa treatments in the Lotus Spa.

"I would love to do a cruise around the Caribbean to explore the stunning islands, beaches and try some amazing food. But I would also love to do an Alaskan cruise, as it'd be a surreal experience and something I'd never forget."
