What We’ve Been Reading: June 2017

Another month, another serving of holiday news! This month we’ve been browsing through a pile of fabulous blog posts from our influencer trip with the Benidorm Tourist Board, and checking out the best travel updates from around the internet. Check out what we found this month…

You Can Now Zipline Off the Eiffel Tower

Have you ever felt like the Eiffel Tower was missing something? If the views from the top weren’t quite vertigo-inducing enough, your answer may have arrived – from 5th to 11th June water brand Perrier celebrated the French Open by setting up a zip line off the Eiffel Tower. The zipline only runs from the first floor of the tower but it’s still 375 feet high and carries riders down the Champs de Mars at 55mph, enough to get anyone’s heart racing!

Men and Women’s Holiday Preparation Habits Revealed

We found this survey by Rescue Remedy really interesting – apparently the average woman starts packing four days before they leave, while more than half of men admit they leave their packing until the last minute. According to the poll, women also allow more time to get to the airport, but despite this, women are also more likely to feel stressed before a trip. We’d like to know if these women have a better and less stressful holiday due to their forward planning!

Blog At The Beach With

Did someone say Blog At The Beach? Twice a year we host a big party and invite as many of our favourite travel bloggers as we can to network, listen to presentations from top speakers, and have a few drinks! We also ran a fab competition after the event, offering an Ibiza holiday to the person who wrote the best blog post about the event! Danielle from Escaping Essex was our lucky winner, for this great post covering the top tips from the talks and our holiday-themed challenge.

Guadalest and the Mountains Near Benidorm

The coverage of our blogger trip to Benidorm is still rolling in, and we loved this post on the jeep tour into the hills around the resort. Amanda took some fantastic photos of the village of Guadalest and the views of the surrounding area. Just half an hour’s drive from Benidorm, this charming maze of cobbled streets is a real gem of the Costa Blanca! The town’s castle is not to be missed – set into the mountain and accessed through a 15-foot tunnel.
