Why You Should Add A UK Break To Your Holiday Bucket List

We’ve all had copious amounts of time to consider which places we’d like to add to our holiday hit list over recent months, with no doubt many beach destinations abroad, European city spots and long haul jaunts making the cut.

But have you got a UK break included in your future travel plans? Holidays a little closer to home are becoming more and more popular, but if you’re still yet to be completely sold on the idea, we’ve picked out a few reasons why you should reconsider!

You won’t have too far to travel, saving you time and money

Of course one of the main plus points of enjoying a holiday on these shores is you cut the travel time right down, avoiding queues at the airport or waiting for transfers upon landing abroad, and instead hopping in the car or even on the train and being at your chosen destination in perhaps just a couple of hours.

That certainly gives you more chance to relax and enjoy your break, but also should mean you save a few pennies at the same time, as the cost of a bit of petrol or a few train tickets vs plane seats, checked in bags and airport parking can be vast, giving you and your family more cash to spend on experiences together whilst on your UK trip.

You won’t have to worry about logistical things getting in the way of your relaxation

Enjoying a staycation is super-easy, and can bypass some of the logistical worries groups or families may come across when jetting off abroad. For example, you’ll have no problem with the language barrier when buying supplies in the local supermarket or ordering dinner at a nearby restaurant, you won’t have to worry about getting lost thousands of miles from your more natural surroundings and could even nip back home if you forget to pack something essential in your case.

In short, you’ll worry less which in turns equals more enjoyment – what’s not to love about that?

There are some gorgeous places in the UK ready and waiting to be enjoyed

Think you know everything there is to know about holidaying in the UK? Think again! You might have had various camping weekends, cottage breaks or seaside trips in the past, but UK tourism has come on leaps and bounds in recent times as more and more people opt to get that much-needed rest over here.

There really are a huge range of stunning coastal spots, quaint cottages and bustling city adventures in the likes of London and Edinburgh to experience, and you’ve no reason not to at least give it a try!

You can often take pets, or invite others to come and join you for a night or two

Another plus point of UK holidays is you can often bring your beloved pets along with you rather than leaving them to be looked after by someone else or placed in kennels. Many people bring their dogs, for example, to camp sites across the country, and lots of cottages often allow for this too, though it’s best to check with the owner first.

Depending how far away you are from home, and how big the property you have booked is, you could even invite some family friends or grandparents over to spend a night or two with you. Just be sure to look up the government’s guidelines for social gatherings at the time of your holiday as this is something that, given recent events, is changing quite regularly.
