Fuerteventura provides water sports and golfing fun for all the family, romantic boat trips for couples and exciting off-road biking adventures for large groups. Embark on the Safari Experience at popular tourist attraction, Oasis Park, where you can ride camels and witness giraffes and hippos roaming freely right before your very eyes. Take a 10-minute boat ride over to the volcanic island, Lobos, for breathtaking views of the magical, maroon volcanoes.

Acua Water park

Acua Water Park is a splash-tastic day out for the whole family. The water park can be found in Corralejo, on the northwest coast of Fuerteventura; it doesn’t matter if you are the mood for some chill out time or an action-packed day in the water, Acua Water Park has attractions for all water lovers.

You can slide down the great many fun slides and play in the wave pools if you’re looking for some exhilarating adventures. Alternatively, if you want to sit back and relax, you can soothe yourself in one of Acua Water Park’s hot tubs. There is also a children’s area for the younger visitors.

Offering visitors over 25,000 metres’ worth of fun, Acua Water Park also has an entertainment service and children’s club. There’s also a wide range of places to eat on site, so you can enjoy a delicious meal after a long day of swimming.

Caleta Harbour

Caleta Harbour is located on the east coast of Fuerteventura and is renowned for being one of the most peaceful places on the entire island. The harbour is filled with beautiful yachts and is home to a great many fish in the waters surrounding it. Calea Harbour also offers great views out to the sea, so it is an idyllic location for you to take a stroll around and appreciate the peace and calm of is wonderful location.

Nearby, you can find a wide range of restaurants, many of which serve up the freshest seafood dishes for miles. Why not call in at one for an evening meal? You can enjoy a lovely meal as you take in the breathtaking view of the sun setting over the ocean.

For the sporty tourists, you can also book water sports or go scuba diving from the harbour, as well as hire a pedalo or jet skis.

Catamaran cruises

Fuerteventura is the ideal location to enjoy catamaran cruises. This beautiful island is surrounded by crystal clear oceans and boasts a magnificent coastline that should be enjoyed from all angles. Fortunately, Fuerteventura offers many catamaran cruises which allow you to take in these glorious views while relaxing on board a fabulous yacht.

Golf

Fuerteventura is the perfect place to enjoy a golf holiday. The Canary Islands are an idyllic setting to enjoy making 18 holes, enjoy a leisurely game while surrounded by fabulous greenery and under the magnificent Spanish sunshine.

Fuerteventura Golf Club is the obvious calling point for anyone who fancies taking in a few games while on the island. The Spain Open tournament was held here in 2004 and the course offers golf all year round, it is the largest green surface in the islands. The 18 hole course is surrounded by gorgeous palm trees and stunning lakes, providing a picturesque backdrop to your game of golf.

The Elba Carlota Beach & Golf Resort in Fuerteventura is an ideal hotel for anybody who is looking for rest and relaxation mixed in with a round or two of golf. The Elba Palace Golf && Vital Hotel is another world-class resort that offers luxury and golf in equal measure.

Morro Jable

Morro Jable is a popular tourist town that sits on the coast of Fuerteventura. It boasts a beautiful long sandy beach with crystal clear water that stretches for over 3 kilometres and is also home to the tallest lighthouse in the Canary Islands, which stands at 59m high.

If snoozing on a sunbed isn’t your thing, there are plenty of activities to do that will satisfy your inner thrill seeker. Nearby there is a surf school and multiple water sport centres and also a diving centre, giving you a great opportunity to see the natural beauty that lies below the surface. There are also a number of quality shops, restaurants, bars and clubs just behind the beach as well, so you won’t be short of amenities to get you through the day.

There’s also a harbour just a short drive away where multiple boat trips depart from on a daily basis. If you are an animal lover, there is a Turtle Nursery just a short distance away from here as well which is also very popular with tourists.

Oasis Adventure park

Oasis Adventure Park in Fuerteventura is an opportunity for people of all ages to have some truly remarkable experiences and learn more about nature. Oasis Park gives you the chance to interact with an enormous range of animals, from sea life to giraffes, and provides fun and educational features for children.

Swim with sea lions and experience their amazing hospitality. The Safari Experience lets people of all ages can enjoy camel rides by the sea and take in various historic sites, thanks to Oasis Park being the largest camel reserve in Europe.

Oasis Park runs a free bus network, which can pick you up from a wide range of convenient locations around the island, including a great many hotels. There are also three restaurants located on the site, so you and your companions can enjoy a delicious meal during your visit, helping to replenish your energy after a day of excitement.

Off-roading

Fuerteventura is immensely popular for off-roading. Aside from the tourist attractions like sandy beaches and great bars, Fuerteventura also has countless miles of countryside off the beaten path, which is ideal for jeeps and dune buggies to travel across.

This terrain can be explored by holidaymakers for a great price; there are plenty of off-roading excursions where you are driven around by experienced guides. However, if you possess a driving licence, you also have the option of renting a vehicle for yourself and drive across the terrain to experience the ‘real’ Fuerteventura – that of rustic and sparse countryside.

Use off-roading as an excuse to discover the island’s secret beaches that cannot be reached by car. Alternatively, you can drive up into the countryside to get a close up look at the spectacular mountains. Off-roading doesn’t need to have a destination, though; you can just cruise along the desert paths and appreciate the true natural beauty of Fuerteventura.

Stargazing

Stargazing in Fuerteventura is an absolutely breath-taking experience. The clear skies of the Canary Islands make it an ideal place for stargazers from all over the world to indulge their passions.

The observatory in Tefia is the go-to place for those who want to contemplate Fuerteventura’s skies. The observatory houses a dome and powerful telescope owned by the Fuerteventura Astronomy Group, who meet here to study the skies at least once a month. The observatory offers unparalleled panoramic views of the stars and the area has minimal light pollution.

The quality of the Canary Islands’ skies is protected by the Law for the Astronomical Quality of the IAC Observatories. Therefore, aside from the observatory, there are ample places that visitor can simply sit back and look into the heavens to study the stars. Why not head out to the countryside in Fuerteventura to study the magnificent skies, or just visit the beach at night?

Visit Lanzarote

If you are planning on taking a trip to Fuerteventura, this is also the perfect opportunity to take in another beautiful Canary Island and visit Lanzarote. The island is just a little further north than Fuerteventura and can be reached by ferry in just 25 minutes, making it an ideal day trip for all types of holidaymakers.
