Grenada is the most southerly of the Windward Islands and is probably best known for the amazing array of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Although tourism is steadily growing on the Island traditional methods are still used and a visit to the old rum distillery or spice plantation should be high on the agenda where you can see for yourself that they are still in working order. Don’t end your trip to Grenada before you sample some of the mouthwatering local cuisine, pig souse, pepper pot or manicou, wash this down with the local “firewater” whilst listening to the gentle crashing of the waves, the perfect end to your day.

No visa is required to visit Grenada, but you will need a 10-year British passport with 6 months validity on it from the return date. The tap water here is safe to drink. Credit cards are not widely accepted.
