Lush olive groves, sweeping sands, beautiful countryside and a fishing port which is one of Greece’s largest. Nea Moudania is a holiday destination that provides a bit of variety for families and chilled out couples who want a bit more than a beach holiday. There is plenty of countryside to explore by foot or bicycle, watersports on the ocean and a market that is a true shopaholic’s haven.
If you’re keen to explore Nea Moudania’s countryside, hire a bike or put on those walking boots for an adventure through the foothills of the impressive Mount Olympus where you’ll find archaeological sites and mosaics. If you’ve worked up an appetite from this adventure, head to the patisseries in Nea Moudania to sample the delicious baklava or spend a day at the markets where you can pick up local honey, olives and ouzo.
Most of Nea Moudania’s restaurants, cafes and bars are situated around the marina where visitors will find a selection of local tavernas, bars and cafes which make for a great place to relax at lunchtime. This area comes to life during the evening though when restaurants rustle up fresh seafood or Patitsio, a Greek twist on lasagne. Cocktails are available at a few bars around the resort with Blue Bar being a favourite among guests!
The beach in Nea Moudania is 2km long which means there is plenty of space for those who want to chill out and relax and those who want to play volleyball or a bit of beach football. Sunloungers and umbrellas are available to rent if a day on the beach is tempting you or if you’re more active, rent a pedalo or go windsurfing for a fun day on the ocean!
