A glamorous metropolis bordered by desert, Dubai is a truly unforgettable holiday experience. In a city constantly striving to be the best you’ll find the world’s tallest building, largest shopping mall and most luxurious hotel, and you can expect the same level of excellence from your holiday! A real all-rounder, Dubai has fantastic beaches, world-class shopping options and sites of historical and cultural interest, ensuring you can get plenty of variety on your Dubai holiday.

Having become a favourite amongst celebrities in recent years, Dubai has a star quality that is reflected in all aspects of the city. The luxurious hotels, award-winning restaurants and huge shopping malls provide each and every visitor with a top-class holiday getaway, and the choice of activities on offer is endless. Man-made islands, action-packed desert tours and exhilarating waterslides are just a few of the things you can find on a Dubai holiday, so expect the unexpected!

Places to Go

Even in Dubai’s spectacular cityscape there is one building that dominates – the Burj Khalifa. At 830m tall the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, housing two observation decks, a restaurant and a hotel and offering jaw-dropping panoramic views of Dubai.

At the foot of the Burj Khalifa lies Dubai Mall, famous as the world’s largest shopping mall. With 1,200 stores, an aquarium and an ice rink to occupy you, it’s possible to spend entire days in this cavernous mall, and if you do exhaust all the shopping options you can head over to Mall of the Emirates, that has a cinema and indoor ski slope alongside its 700 shops. Don’t forget to drop by the souq markets to haggle over authentic Middle Eastern goods – this is a great way to experience the local culture.

In such warm climates you need to take measures to keep yourself cool, and Dubai offers plenty of options! The beaches are an obvious option; Dubai’s coastline has some beautiful beaches, and although many of them are owned by hotels there are still some lovely sun spots open to the public for a sunbathe and a cooling dip in the sea. If you crave something more adrenaline-fuelled, head to Aquaventure waterpark at the Atlantis Resort, or Wild Wadi by Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Eating and Drinking

Dubai’s food scene is as glamorous as anything else in the city, with many world-renowned restaurants showcasing a range of cuisines. The most prestigious of the city’s restaurants is considered to be Reflets Par Pierre Gagnaire, offering Michelin-star French dining from the famous chef. Tagine is known for its flawless Moroccan food, while Awtar is the premier server of Lebanese food, a popular cuisine in the Middle East.

If you’re on a tighter budget you can find more reasonably priced food at the traditional souq markets, and of course the shopping malls have a huge range of chain restaurants serving practically every cuisine on earth. Whatever you’re in the mood for you’re guaranteed to find it in Dubai!
