Famous for its spectacular sunsets, sublime beaches and electric party atmosphere, Ibiza’s San Antonio Town, also known as Sant Antoni de Portmany, is a holiday destination heavyweight, and a real force to be reckoned with. Regarded as Europe’s top party hotspot, what once was a quiet fishing town, has snowballed into one of the Mediterranean’s most popular and well-known resorts.

Not to be confused with serene San Antonio Bay, San Antonio Town has been a club 18-30 favourite since the 1980s when the first party revellers began to flock to Ibiza. Awash with super clubs, disco pubs and bars, San Antonio has become the epitome of hedonistic Ibiza. Despite this, the stunning beach and adjoining palm fringed promenade is lined with elegant dining spots and designer shopping outlets, making the resort a popular choice for couples and even families.

For those who like to be right in the very heart of the action on their holiday but well-connected by transport links to allow exploration into surrounding resorts, San Antonio is the ideal choice. With Ibiza’s old town capital only 20 minutes away and the paradise little sister island Formentera accessible in under an hour by ferry, you can really make the most of your Ibiza getaway from this brilliant vantage point.

It kind of goes without saying that the majority of tourists who migrate to San Antonio each summer are generally there to party and have a good time. With Europe’s biggest selection of super clubs in close proximity to lively areas like the Sunset Strip and the legendary West End, you are absolutely spoilt for choice for night time entertainment in San Antonio.

However, you don’t have to wait until the sun goes down to start having a good time. Spend your days soaking up the sun on San Antonio’s stunning expanse of golden sandy beach. Backed by a thriving promenade filled with café’s, bars and shops, relax in style, close at hand to all of the amenities you need, or why not try your hand at some of the water sports on offer?

The warm, shallow water makes San Antonio’s beach a perfect spot for pedalos, snorkelling, and beginner level scuba diving, whilst designer yachts bob calmly around the bay.

If you’re travelling with the kids in tow however, don’t panic! Families are catered for too with mini golf, go-karting and play parks all nearby, and the island’s waterpark Aguamar only 20 minutes away by car in Playa D’en Bossa resort.

As one of the Mediterranean’s biggest party resorts, San Antonio has had to adapt itself to its growing tourist trade over the years. Traditional Spanish restaurants serving up local specialities like tapas and paella sit side by side with eateries offering culinary stylings from around the globe. Sushi, Italian, Mexican, fast food… you can find it all in San Antonio!

For a taste of the traditional however, head to the seafront promenade where the more upmarket restaurants dwell. Sample fabulous, freshly caught seafood cooked to perfection with plenty helpings of patatas bravas on the side!

Alcohol and San Antonio go hand in hand so well, it really needs no introduction! Cocktail menus, local spirits and imported beers are available widely across the resort, prices can be steep however so be careful!
