Holidays to Playa Blanca

As one of the newest resorts on the Spanish island of Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is well suited to holidaymakers. Found on the southern tip of this island in the Canaries, it tends to experience fewer windy days than other places in Lanzarote, which is great news for sunbathers on cheap Playa Blanca holidays.

Viewed as a quieter option than some of the larger cities on Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is tailored for families and older couples.

Weather

Due to being sheltered by the mountains surrounding the resort, Playa Blanca will often have some of the highest temperatures on Lanzarote. Fairly stable weather throughout the year has also made the town a year-round destination for holidaymakers, with temperatures on average in the high teens and early twenties.

Beaches

Of course, its big draw is the long white beach from which it gets its name, but there are lots of other options available nearby to keep you entertained.

Things To Do

if you want to enjoy shopping during your cheap Playa Blanca holidays, why not check out the modern Marina Rubicon development, which has a number of designer shops and restaurants and views across the marina. You could even spend an afternoon exploring Papagayo, which is a series of coves just along from the town. This area has been made into a national park, so you can be sure of finding many unspoilt beaches here.

If you enjoy being outdoors, a hike up the dormant volcano Montana Roja could be right up your street, which will provide you with unrestricted views over Playa Blanca and the surrounding area. It may be best to do this in the morning, when it will be cooler, before relaxing afterwards for lunch and a refreshing drink in a nearby bar.

Food And Drink

Although nights in Playa Blanca are generally less hectic than those in other resorts, this doesn’t mean there’s nothing happening once the sun goes down. For example, Lounge Bar provides a quieter atmosphere with chilled glasses, while you can also enjoy a quick game at Miscue’s Snooker Bar.

For a change of pace, head to one of the resort’s establishments offering karaoke and live music, such as Buskers Bar or Barney’s.

Eating out will not be a problem on your cheap Playa Blanca holidays, as the town has many accommodating options. If you want to try a few of the local delicacies, head to a tapas diner, such as El Peregrino or Blue Note Lanzarote. It might be fun to try sancocho, which is a fish stew made from salted sea bream.

For a taste of home, there are a number of established restaurants serving British food, such as the fish and chip café Plaice in the Sun.
