If you're looking for peace and quiet, hire a car and drive 15 minutes out of town to Papagoya where you're sure to find your own deserted patch of beach. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities here; markets regularly visit the town selling all kinds of jewellery, textiles and handicrafts. Be sure to pick up some jewellery featuring the island's signature gemstone, olivine.
