Headquartered in Sunderland, Hays Travel specialises in providing good value, quality holidays alongside excellent customer service. With humble beginnings in a small retail shop in Seaham, Co Durham, the company has grown massively over the last 40 years to become the UK’s largest independent travel agent.

The company uses other tour operators to sell holidays to customers including Jet2holidays and TUI, all of which are fully ABTA and ATOL bonded.

Hays Travel And Thomas Cook

Following the devastating collapse of Thomas Cook, a former rival of Hays Travel, the company worked around the clock to help customers rebook their cancelled holidays. They have since pledged to buy all 555 of Thomas Cook's high-street stores with plans to re-open them with immediate effect (where possible) and to take on up to 2,500 ex-employees.

This aquisition will provide a boost for high streets across the country and allow Hays Travel to build on the good things Thomas Cook had, not least its people.
