The beach in Skala Kalloni is a long sweeping beach that’s covered in soft sand – perfect if you want to enjoy your holiday in the sun. This beach is set on the Bay of Kalloni which is surrounded by mountains and a lush valley that’s home to some of the more varied birdlife. If you want to get out onto the ocean, this area of Lesbos is a great place to try your hand at the sport of windsurfing!

Things To Do

Most people come to Skala Kalloni to indulge in a spot of bird watching. Lesbos is well known for its large amount of birdlife that thrive of its landscape. Take a walk through the countryside to spot some native species or alternatively, if you’re here during June, wander into a neighbouring village to watch a horse race. This is a celebration of the horseracing culture that is a big part of life in Lesbos.

Food And Drink

Skala Kalloni is well known for being home to some of the most delicious sardines in Greece and you can find some down by the colourful port. Fishing boats turn up here every morning to sell their goods to customers and to restaurant owners around the village. For a big meal though, the main square is where many of the main restaurants serve food and traditional Ouzo late into the evening!
