With its many sheltered coves or ‘calas’, and array of golden sandy beaches, which gently shelve into the calm blue seas, Cala D’Or must be one of the East coasts most beautiful areas. Chic pavement café bars, great children’s amenities, music bars and the odd nightclub make it high on the list when planning that family get a way. Transfer Time – 80mins

Cala D'or has a wide range of Mediterranean restaurants selling delicious seafood caught the same day by a local fisherman. Fish is of course what these coastal resorts excel at, but if this doesn't appeal there are many other choices, with restaurants offering cuisine from around the world. Eateries at the marina are more expensive, but you get a lovely view of the luxurious yachts moored nearby.

Cala D'or has several lovely beaches, but they are all small so be sure to get there early if you visit in summer! Several companies offer boat tours along the coastline, and for those more comfortable on dry land there are many hiking and cycling tracks to explore!
