Belek is a smart, well-kept resort on the Turkish Riviera, where the long beach, upmarket hotel resorts and manicured golf courses give it an air of exclusivity. Purpose-built in the 80s to accommodate Turkey’s growing number of visitors, the town is dominated by 4 and 5-star all inclusive hotels and tourist amenities, but is close to several sites of cultural and historical interest and a national park.
The star feature of Belek is its beach, a 16km stretch of golden sand bordered by enticing blue sea and backed by pristine hotels and green forest. The shallow water close to the shore is ideal for young kids, and there are great facilities including showers and changing rooms. Watersports are really popular here; you can take your pick from activities like wakeboarding, parasailing and hiring pedalos.
