Blog At The Beach 2018 Round-Up

Last week we held our fifth #BlogAtTheBeach event at Duke Studios, Leeds, and welcomed 85 travel and lifestyle bloggers to our ski lodge-themed get together. This time around, we embraced the colder weather and welcomed our guests with some hot toddies and mulled wine. We then set about a day packed with networking, blogger talks and Twitter trending. Yes, you read that right - #BlogAtTheBeach was the top UK trend on the day.

Once our guests had warmed up, we welcomed our first speaker of the day, Kirsty from the blog Kirsty Leanne, who spoke to us about pitching to brands and getting the collaborations you want. After a short lunch, it was time for Bee from Queen Beady to take the stage for a talk on getting the most from your blog without going full time. Our final talk of the afternoon was by Kaye from Fordtography, who gave some great tips on taking amazing snaps whilst travelling, plus provided the best quote of the day - “It’s like Harry Potter; you don’t choose the wand, the wand chooses you. That’s the same with cameras.”

With all the blogging insight out of the way, it was time to announce the winner of our competition. The lovely Hannah from Han Meets World and Pixie from Fashion Voyeur both won stunning Charles Conrad watches.

After some last minute networking and goodbyes, we headed to The Alchemist on Greek Street, Leeds, for some well-deserved cocktails. An array of tipples were tasted, including colour changing drinks, nettle cocktails, and even ones with fairy liquid in, which all helped to round off a fabulous day.

We hope all who attended had an amazing time and came away feeling inspired. Until next time, guys.
