Acharavi is the main town on Corfu’s north coast, offering every amenity you could possibly need including banks, a post office and supermarkets. However, the resort still maintains the feel of a small holiday resort, giving visitors the best of both worlds! You’ll find a wide variety of holidaymakers here, as this varied and versatile resort appeals to families, couples and groups alike looking for a relaxing beach holiday.
Located on the edge of Acharavi is Hydropolis, one of Corfu’s water parks featuring slides for all ages as well as jacuzzis and a choice of swimming pools. Mount Pantokrator, Corfu’s tallest mountain, can be visited from Acharavi by bike or bus tour, and you can join the famous Corfu Trail to explore the island on foot. The ancient Roman bath ruins on the edge of town are also worth a visit.
Acharavi’s beach is stunning, a 3km stretch that runs the whole length of the resort. This spot is particularly popular amongst families due to the safe conditions for young children; the water stays relatively shallow for around 50m from the shoreline. Sunbeds and parasols are available to hire, and the beach is well serviced by a range of cafes, bars and shops for when you’re in need of refreshment.
Many of Corfu’s best towns and sights are in easy reach of Acharavi. Sidari is only 20 minutes’ drive away and you can reach Corfu Town in under an hour, where you can wander the cobbled streets and visit the fortress, church and museums detailing the island’s fascinating history. Boat cruises around the coast or to nearby islands are also popular, giving you the chance to visit Paxos, Parga or even Kefalonia.
