Holidays to Dassia

Overview

On the east coast of Corfu, 14km from Corfu Town, you’ll find Dassia, a small but lively resort backed by lush green forests. Although the beach is stony the resort remains a longstanding favourite among holidaymakers due to its great location near Corfu Town. You can expect a large number of tourist amenities on the main coastal road including souvenir shops and restaurants serving all kinds of food.

Things To Do

Dassia has a beautiful Blue Flag beach that, although made from shingle and pebble rather than sand, is still a popular spot for sunbathing. Watersports are popular here; the resort’s calm, flat sea makes it ideal for windsurfing and waterskiing. If you want to explore the coastline you have two options; either book a boat trip or hire a boat and go on a self-guided tour! Both are available within the resort.

Day Trips

Corfu Town is only 20 minutes’ drive away, and there are regular buses if you haven’t hired a car. Here you can visit Venetian fortresses or the Old Town and take a glass-bottom boat tour from the harbour. Pony treks are a fun way to travel if you want to go inland and explore more of the island, or on a hot day you can cool off at the Aqualand water park!

Nightlife

Dassia’s nightlife is pretty low-key; expect to spend your evenings in a local taverna sipping Greek wine, possibly finishing with live music or a karaoke night in a livelier bar. However the nearby resort of Ipsos, with which Dassia shares a beach, attracts a younger crowd, so head here for louder bars and club nights. Ipsos is about a 20-minute walk away, or you can get a taxi to Corfu Town.
