Holidays to Tsilivi

Overview

Enjoying a fantastic position on the north east of Zante, Tsilivi is becoming increasingly popular with Brits taking a break in the sun, so cheap holidays in the resort are not hard to find. Once a very small resort with its beginnings as a local fishing port, its beaches have certainly driven the dash here.

Tsilivi has grown to become a modern resort with all the amenities and great entertainment you would expect. With sandy beaches and its setting among vineyards, orchards and rolling hills, it’s a wonderful destination for couples, families and groups of friends. Although Tsilivi is quieter than Zante’s party resort of Laganas, there are still plenty of bars and restaurants on the main street and young kids will love the new waterpark in town and the fantasy mini-golf that’s nearby!

As with most of the Ionian islands, Zante offers fantastic weather in the summer, with the temperature regularly hitting 30°C or more. With every day likely to be above the mid-20s though, sun lovers will do very well on cheap Tsilivi holidays. Winter visitors should also enjoy lovely weather. A little rain may pass by from time to time but, with temperatures in the mid to late teens, it is much better than Blighty. Autumn and spring are great times to visit too, with the landscape more inspiring than at any other time of year.

Beaches

The number one attraction for holidaymakers heading to Tsilivi is the beach. An outstanding sweep of sand, it makes for great day’s lounging around. With gently sloped shores to the warm waters, it is great for taking a dip too. Tsilivi’s 2km stretch of Blue Flag beach is half allocated to sun loungers and the other half is for lounging on towels and there are plenty of restaurants and beach bars for food throughout the day. Alternatively, a number of quieter beaches are close by too.

There are also plenty of water sports centres if you fancy hiring out a jet-ski or pedalo but if it’s a quieter beach you’re looking for, Tragaki and Bouka are directly to the west of Tsilivi.

Things To Do

Still, there is much more than the beach to your cheap Tsilivi holidays. Remaining true to its fishing village origins, thing becomes authentically Zakynthian away from the main strip.

Tsilivi also has a great number of attractions for kids. It has its own waterpark, overing a cornucopia of slides and chutes to splash down from. With rides like Space Hole and Lazy River, the whole family will have a fun day in the pool. Another great place to spend time with the kids is the Fantasy Mini-Golf. An area within beautiful gardens, you’ll also have to dodge the geckos here.

Just 20 minutes by car from Zante Town, getting out and about is easy. The capital is ideal for shopping and enjoying some of the best restaurants on the island. With the local landscape a joy to explore on horseback, bike or by foot, it makes for a great getaway.

Food And Drink

Tsilivi enjoys a large number of bars, cafes and restaurants. With a host of different cuisines and tastes from back home too, finding something perfect for all of the family is not hard. On the main street of Tsilivi, the choice of food ranges from Italian and Chinese to Indian and Greek. One must-do for any trip to Zante though, is to soak up the food, drink, and tradition of a taverna. With many being locally run, this is where the most flavoursome meals are to be found, traditionally serving up moussaka and fresh feta cheese salads with ice cream and waffles shops selling tempting desserts for after dinner.

If an after-meal drink is what you’re looking for there are plenty of bars and even an Irish pub on the main street too! As well as offering great family entertainment, Tsilivi gifts couples and groups of friends a fantastic nightlife. Practically bursting with bars and clubs, particularly the likes of Molly Malone’s and Two Brothers, there are cocktails, beers and long nights of dancing ahead.
