Holidays to Las Caletillas

Overview

A quiet town on Tenerife’s north east coast, Las Caletillas is ideal for those seeking a peaceful holiday setting. The town is made up of just a handful of hotels with a small selection of restaurants, bars and shops, but that doesn’t mean it should be discounted as a base for your Tenerife holiday. Las Caletillas is just 15 minutes’ drive from Santa Cruz and perfectly placed for a range of day trips.

Things To Do

Las Caletillas is a great base for exploring Tenerife; Santa Cruz is close by and even Costa Adeje in the south can be reached in around 40 minutes by car. A day out at Teide National Park to see Spain’s highest mountain is also a great option, while from the resort you can enjoy boat tours, wildlife cruises, fishing, and even trips to the nearby island of La Gomera.

Beaches

You may be surprised by the beaches in Las Caletillas; Tenerife’s volcanic origins mean this area has several striking black sand beaches stretching around three coves. The nearby town of Candelaria also has a volcanic beach, but if you prefer the traditional golden sand you can find it on the man-made beach at Playa de Las Teresitas, which is especially popular with families.

Food And Drink

The choice of restaurants in Las Caletillas may be small, but it’s high quality. Fresh seafood is a speciality here, and you will also be treated to a range of authentic tapas bars. In the evening you can expect to enjoy a quiet drink accompanied by some low-key live music, but for a livelier scene, you’re better off heading to Playa de las Americas.
