For those looking to stretch their legs, just a half hour away lays the stunning Teide National Park. A volcanic region, you can make your way to the top of the 3718 metre-high peak and take in the spectacular views either by your own steam on one of the well-worn trails, or get a lift in the cable car. An excellent choice for a day trip.


Playas de las Americas comes alive when the sun goes down and the pretty promenade is a hive of activity around the clock. For nightclubs, head to Veronicas Strip and the Starco Centre whose cocktails and beats will take you into the small hours.
