Things To Do

Away from the beach, tourists often take a day trip to Mount Teide, the island’s dormant volcano. This mountain is the highest peak in Spain, at 12,198 feet, and the third-largest volcano in the world. The more active holidaymakers can enjoy a hike to the summit of Teide, or for those who’d rather relax, you can take a cable car ride that will give you some spectacular views.

If you want to try some Spanish food whilst visiting Playa De La Arena, then La Pergola could be for you. The restaurant describes its food as a fusion between Spanish and Canarian, and offers some much-loved tapas dishes along with great views of the area. Pancho is always a favourite with tourists; having first opened in 1963, this restaurant attracts customers with its relaxed ambience and culinary specialities, including a number of seafood dishes.

People who visit Playa De La Arena can experience the town’s bars, which have a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere to them, making them great venues for social drinks. Just walk along the seafront to find a number of bars that are all inviting to tourists. The Blarney Stone is the town’s Irish Bar and is known to have live sports and entertainment, including a karaoke night. You can also get some hearty pub food here too.
